GIF Animator - Multi-language Support?

Post by Philipz »

I have some GIF's that I need to inlcude Chinese, Japanese and German in. Is this possible?

As of now, when I enter a Chinese character in the edit text banner box, I see question marks in the actual banner, although the text edit box shows the correct character.

Thanks for any input.

The following post is in the VideoStudio forum but I would think the reply given by Glennmizu would be the same for this product.

Thanks for suggestion Steve. Unfortunately it did not work.

I am able to enter Chinese characters in the app itself, but it fails to render the characters correctly, replacing them with question marks (?), in the banner itself. My guess is that GIF Animator doesn't support foreign characters. There certainly isn't information to confirm otherwise on ULEAD's web site.

If you use Chinese Windows, then GIF Animator will support Chinese.

Sorry if this does not help much.

Actually it does help. I will run an instance of Virtual PC using the Chinese version of XP. ;) I only need to make one small conversion.

Just for the record, installing GIF Animator on a Chinese version of XP did not solve my problem.

GA 5 seems to be rather flaky with some fonts. I have noticed there are some that won't reproduce properly at all, yet work fine in Photoshop or other programs.

You may have to make an image of just the text in another program and add it as an object to your animation. Unfortunately that means no banner text effects...

It would be nice to know the cause of this one.
