MediaStudio 8 stops resonding

Hi! I am using the 30day free trial of ulead mediastudio pro 8.0. I am trying to edit a 5gb mpeg file. When I finish editing and save the project, I want to make a new mpeg file so to make a dvd using DVD workshop 2. The problem is that when I try file-->Create-->Video file (either mpeg or avi) video editor stops responding. Why does this happen? I am running win xp pro on a pentium 4 3GHz with 1gb ram. Is there any other way to do this?
