Adding more than one song to slideshow
does anyone know if there is anyway to add more than one song to a Slideshow? Please help, I am trying to make a 50th anniversary slide show and I need to add more songs. Thanks.
There's a couple of methods I have used:
1) break the pictures into logical "groups", then add multiple slideshows to your project, each group of pictures with a different song for each slideshow (a project can have multiple slideshows)
2a) use some audio editor to combine more than one song together. Then use the one longer song (made up of one to many songs) as the slideshow background.
2b) sometimes I don't like to use all of one song, so I just cut up sections of songs and splice them together -- sort of like a montage of songs for my musical background...
Regards,
George

I usually just use my video editing software to create an audio file (nothing fancy, and most video editing packages can output an audio-only track).
For editing, I use MediStudio Pro 8, but that's overkill for a simple audio-stitching function. I'm sure there are audio-specific applications that handle merging, I just haven't had the need to find one because I just use MSP.

You can do what GeorgeW has said with the FREE audio editor
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
In fact it looks almost identical to the one that you get with MediaStudio 8

There is also an alternative to making slideshows with multiple audio in MovieFactory 4.
1. Create a slideshow with transitions but NO Audio.
2. Go back to the Add/Edit Media Window and make sure the slideshows thumbnail is selected.
3. Click on the EXPORT MOVIE button (or ALT+K) then select a format (HQ, GQ, etc).
4. Type in the filename and save the slideshow as MPEG.
5. After the slideshow has been made into MPEG, create a new MovieFactory project and add the MPEG.
Click on the ENHANCE VIDEO and under the AUDIO tab, add the songs/music that you want. You can add up
to 10 audio files for each MPEGs.
6. Click OK after you are finished and go back to the Add/Edit Media window.
7. Open the Project Settings (ALT+J) and click on the Change MPEG Settings button. Select a format
that matches the format you selected when you made the slideshow into MPEG. You may notice a slight
(or maybe unnoticeable) decrease in the quality because of the re-conversion. Just make sure the
video properties and the project settings matches so output will almost be the same.
8. Proceed with the rest of the step then burn your project to DVD.
hope this helps.
