Does VS 8 or 9 handle Line 21 closed captioning correctly?

I'm interested in taking video that has closed captioning (the digital signal on Line 21) and making DVD's of it.

According to this web site, my Sony Digital8 camcorder is correctly passing the Line 21 information along the FireWire connection:

I've been using the capture program WinDV to capture the FireWire video; sorry, but the video source is often live, and Ulead's capture program works okay for tape but has the infamous buffer problem when capturing live video.

After the whole process, including the correct capture procedure listed in this forum, I get great looking video burned to DVD...but apparently without the Line 21 captioning information.

Does anyone know where the Line 21 data is being lost...if it is?
