Question about installing Trial VS9

Post by Sven »

Okay this is probably a really dumb question, but I am having a problem installing the Trial Version of VS9.

I double-click on the file uvs9_tbyb_e_ulus.exe and it starts to extract itself. That goes well. Then I start to run the installation and keep clicking next (even though there are no countries to choose from and no terms of the liscence agreement) to the point where it says it's ready to install. I click next and it starts for about 2 seconds then it says "Setup Needs The Next Disc". Then it has some weird address like C:\DOCUME~1\(MyUser)\LOCALS~1\Temp\pft7ED.tmp\Program\UVS1

I'm just sooo confused right now. I keep clicking "OK" and it says "Setup could not find a file on the specified path or disk. Please check that the proper disc is inserted or specify a new path."

So um... What disc? This is supposed to be a trial downloadable version.

Gosh I feel dumb... Please take it easy on this Rookie

~Thanks,
Sven

The most probable fault is a corrupt download.
Try downloading it again.
If this does not work let me know.

I've downloaded it 2 times... Want me to try a third time?

Edited because I do not want to double-post

Oh and could someone tell me where EXACTLY do I download the files to? I know it says your Temporary directory on the trial download site, but... That's not specific for a rookie like me... :? What's the specific place that I am supposed to download it to?

Thanks for the site, but I'm still not getting it. I even did it with the -a and -deleter it said to do on the site, and it still comes up w/ the same thing saying it needs the next disc. That site just lead me in one large circle.

Um... Anyone have the time to do a step-by-step? If no one can do that, I can't try out the ULead VS9 :? :(

OK try this then.
If you don't have a copy of winzip then download the trial here:
http://www.winzip.com/

Now right click on your downloaded file
uvs9_tbyb_e_ulus.exe
You will find you now have a list of "Winzip" options.
Select "Extract to" and choose a suitable folder (Best still create one)
Now you have de-compressed the installation file into several other files.
You should file a "Setup.exe" file, try running that.
