"Cannot Open File" Possible Solution

I've seen several posts concerning getting a "Cannot Open File" message after multiplexing and fixating VOBs but before the actual DVD burning. I encountered the same problem and found the problem and fix that works for me.

Module LdvdEng.dll has compatability problems or faulty code. Install older version of .dll to correct.

Here's how I reached that conclusion and fixed my machine. I was using an older ADS DVD Xpress and Video Studio 7 to capture and burn my old VHS tapes and copy them to DVDs. Everything was fine until I picked up a new DVD Xpress and loaded the newer version of CapWiz software on my machine. I tried to burn a DVD and the "Cannot Open File" came up. I thought maybe I needed to load the Movie Factory 3 that came with the DVD Xpress to make it work. I loaded Movie Factory 3 and had the same problem. So it had to be something associated with the CapWiz software. I looked at the files loaded by Capwiz and saw some files were placed in the common files area. I fortunately had a laptop with the older files still in place and unmodified. I transferred all the common files and started testing to see which one caused the "Cannot Open File". I found the newer LdvdEng.dll was the only file to cause the error. I deleted that file and loaded an older version of the file and things work great. I uninstalled Movie Factory 3 and continued using VS7. I've edited and burned 4 DVDs with no problems and all work fine in my standalone DVD player. The specifics are:

Replaced with older, working file LdvdEng.dll 408kb version 3.6.9.103
