slow performance from ulead movie factory - Hauppage version
It's painfully slow writing to even a cdr.
What are you putting on the CD-R?
I'll bet it's getting re-coded. For example, if you are making a VCD, the MPEG-2 from your Hauppauge card is getting re-coded to low-bitrate MPEG-1.
BTW- Be aware that you can get problems editing MPEGs. You can burn your Hauppauge files directly to DVD without editing. But, you may get "lip-sync" problems if you edit the files with Ulead.
