New system, HP Athlon 64 x2, with Windows xp media. 1 gb of memory.
I have been hung up for a week. The system hangs at create a disk screen when trying to burn any size file created. It hangs so bad that system restore does not close the program. I have to unplug it eventually. I have restored my system, uninstalled the program and reinstalled. [although I see a posting that may indicate that it is a tedious task] No luck. Tech support suggests unloading all programs that may be using system resources, which didn't work either.
Trial Version worked on my old system, just very slowly. It had been using Version 6 SE for a couple of years now with no problem.
Should I unload Videostudio and all as indicated in the posting about it?
Roxio, Microsoft Movie see to work
I have cancer and would like to finish this soon.

As I just said in another post a couple of minutes ago
, if you have packet-writing software like Nero InCD on your computer, you should try uninstalling or disabling it as that often conflicts with Video Studio in terms of control of the burning drive. The end result is that the process just hangs, as you describe. You mention Roxio -- they too include a packet-writing program in their suite (though I perennially cannot remember its name). It's the one where you can drag and drop a file to it for burning... Anyway, the Roxio program apparently can be internally disabled, unlike InCD which has to be totally uninstalled...
