Applying Changes to Multiple Menu Pages in the SAME LOCATION

Post by mltwitz »

If I want to copy/paste text, buttons etc. from one menu-page to another, it does not paste it in the exact same spot as it was in the source page and adjusting it can be quite tedious (works only by flipping pages back and forth). The assumption here is that I do not want to create an identical copy of the entire menu page, as I have already specified individual button links to my video assets throughout all menu pages. Therefore I only want to apply changes from one page to multiple menu pages in the exact same location.

Yes I agree this is a limitation and so we have to do a workround.

Sometimes when using perhaps a menu wizard and placing in a video title
(as an example) it needs to be resized or a long title split into two lines etc
(again just examples of the problem) and then you want to repeat this so that the remaining menu pages retain the same look.

What I do is to select two or more objects and then use the alignment tools align top, left, right etc.

You can also turn on the grid to assist in placement.
Under tools, preferences, default settings you can alter the grid size.

Another workround if you have made several complex changes to one menu screen is to right click the thumbnail representation of the menu along the bottom of the screen and select "Add to library". Now delete the remaining menus and drag in from the library the menu you have just saved, now tweak that menu with the new thumbnails, page number etc. You can always delete it from the library if its of no further use after completing the current project.

With this second method remember to include ALL the navigation buttons play-all next prev home even though they may not be used in this first menu. the reason is as you mention, placement. You can delete what is not required when you use this as a template for the other pages.
