Transition between Tracks in MSP8

Post by Gra »

Hi Guys

Sorry if this is a really dumb question but can you perform a transition between two tracks in MSP8 or can transitions only happen on the same track? I've only had the upgrade from 7 for a few days and I've done some straight forward stuff quite easily.

Now I'm working on something bit more complicated and for it too work I need to fade in a picture over the lower track but I cannot see an obvious way to do it at this point (I did a quick search and checked out the help, so sorry if I can't see the wood for the trees).

Any advice would be welcome.

Regards.

Transitions are meant to be on the same track, between overlapping clips. However, you can of course achieve the same effect in many ways.
For instance, to generate a cross fade, you would could make the later clip (on a higher track) less and less transparent.
Or you could work with moving paths on both tracks to create a wipe for instance.
Not that hard all, but of course it's much easier to "drop a transition".
Hope that helps a bit at least
