I have recently upgraded to Ulead Media Studio Pro 8, and I am trying to load AVI-files that have been grabbed from our Sony FX1 (HD) camera by my collegue who uses Adobe. These files have been created with the CineForm CFHD-codec, which Ulead does'nt seem to recognize. Is this correct? Can I add this codec in some way to my Ulead editing software?
Is my collegue going to have the same trouble when he tries to load material that I grab froum our Camera? Is that solvable?
CFDV codec

sood_aj has written a tutorial about installing and using the DixX codec, you might find the answer about using other codecs with VideoStudio here:-

Thanks, but no, there is not any indication there about outher codecs, let alone the CFDV.
I can find at the CineForm website that I can buy "Connect HD v2.1http://www.cineform.com/index.asp?PageA ... &ProdID=69" for $199,- but this seems to be just the simplest editing suite that uses the codec, and there is no mention that the codec would be integrated in my Ulead software. Also, $199,- seems expensive for a codec, isn't it?

You might have to capture the HD video from the FX1 using MSP8.
I'm not sure but most HD editing programs capture in mpeg2 and can be used across applications.
HD capture is usually in .mpg or m2t (raw capture) format and can be edited across apps.
I have not seen any application capture HD as a AVI file.
You might try womble apps to see if it will load the file.
