conversion/burning error
i'm using Ulead Video Studio 4 (the only program that doesn't increase my filesize by massive proportions) to make custom DVDs with menus. I'm just wondering why it takes so damn long (and i mean 5-6 hours) to get through the "converting video titles" or whatever process. Half the time it doesn't even get through that. And if it does, it finds an error burning - problem with target device. Yet my DVDRW drive works perfectly and i've burned some other discs on it. It gives me an error code for the target device problem, but searching for it on the net yields no results. I've burned one disc successfully using this program, so I don't know where I'm going wrong. I've made them all pretty much the same. It's really pissing me off because it takes almost 7-8 hours to completely finish ( ihave a 16x write speed on DVDs), so i have to leave it running overnight, only to have wasted time because it screws up somewhere in the process. and because it takes so long, i can't sit with it and figure out exactly when it does it. Any help on correcting these errors or just finding another program that keeps file sizes like this ulead program would help. And solve a lot of my problems. Thanks. And back when i used MF3, i had no problems at all burning discs, it might have taken an hour tops. What's going on using this program? I know my drive works, but i don't understand what screws up during the conversion process. My files converted fine to MPEG, so the mpeg should convert to whatever format this program tries to make it just fine, but why does it take so LONG!?!?sorry to rant, i'm just really frustrated. I've already wasted about 10 DVDs trying it over and over, except for that one that burned right for some reason.

Firstly please complete your system specifictions on your profile page.
Then tell us as much as you can about the procedure you have followed.
what was the source of the clip(s) How did you import it (them) into your computer. What are the settings of the clip(s) in terms of bit rate, sound format, length, file size, screen dimensions etc.
What did you do after importing into your computer - such as edits, transitions, titles, filters etc.
What Settings have you used to try and burn your DVD. Was this to a disk, Hard Drive folder, ISO image?
At the moment it's a bit like someone saying "My car won't start - why?"
