Free Intervideo WinDVD Player with Purchase of VS9

Just purchased VS9 ESD version. The link for the download of VS9 worked perfectly and everything installed correctly. Smartdownload was another issue. I finally found a site with actually downloaded the modules at 73KB/sec instead of 14 (frustrating when you're paying for a hi-speed internet serivce. (Thanks, I needed to vent!)

Anyway, Ulead is throwing in Intervideo WinDVD Silver player with every purchase. When I went to install it is asks me for a Serial #. I tried the activation key in the email and it didn't work. I've been searching through forums, customer service, technical support and can't find any refernce to it. I even tried the VS9 serial number and the ESD order reference number (grasping at straws I know) with no luck.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Rick,

I went through the same process for the upgrade. I received an email with the subject beginning 'Download link and license key....". The Serial Number for WinDVD was in this email, although it didn't actually say so!

I can't believe it. I saw and used that serial number yesterday and still nothing. I just tried it again, the "Next" button remained greyed out.

Then I remembered an old problem with these installs from years ago. Every field, including the "Company" field needed to be filled in. Sure enough, I put a "." in the "Company" field and everything started functioning. I haven't seen this in a while. When are software companies going to understand that yes we do buy software for our own personal use!!
