"Strobe" or "Stutter" on playback of MPG

Post by laswayze »

I (we) are having problems with our final video playback on a TV. When we play back the MPG on a monitor it is ok. On a TV it has the "Strobe" or "Stutter" on it. This is most apperant on subjects that are moving fast (people walking fast), or on our slow motion effects. We have created the AVI using Lower field first andn Max. quality (100). We then created the MPG using Upper field (and other times using lower field first).

Sometimes everything goes perfect (on previous projects) and other times, like now, we just can not seem to get rid of this problem!

We HAVE defragged the drives, we have plenty of muscle in the PC etc.

Is there a "standard" procedure for the field settings (lower, upper etc) that we can use as a starting basis for greating these videos?

Try to keep the field order the same throughout your entire process. If you captured lower field first (LFF), then encode your mpegs LFF.
