Hi Ptitaw, welcome to the forums..

If I understand your post correctly, you are trying to edit Compressed Divx
If that is true, then yes you are going to have the problems that you are having. How much editing are you doing to the Divx file?
Divx, Xvid, wmv, are some of the formats that VS will not handle very well if at all, when you attempt to do alot of editing to them..

Ptitaw you didn't read something that could probably answer your questions as to why you are having the problems while previewing in Project Mode. Project mode is a rough estimation of what your final video will look like. VS is putting together everything that you changed, or added, deleted, etc.. on the fly. You can go to Preferences, and change the Playback option from Instant, to High Quality. However each time you preview your work, it will render it, which may take some time, based on the length, and complexity of your project.ptitaw wrote: i've read a lot on this forum but i didn't find anythong that could help me

Do you have the Divx Pro Codec? http://www.divx.com/divx/create/divxpro ... ivxpro0206 In order to create Divx compressed video, you must have that. However that is creating a Divx video from another format, such as DV-AVI. AFAIK, VS9 can not.
