Removing VS 7 SE DVD and installing VS9
Hi, after receiving a reply about VS 7 not supporting Dolby Digital sound, I have decided to upgrade to VS 9. Should I remove VS 7 from my computer before installing VS 9, or can I leave VS 7 onboard safely? If I remove VS 7, should I do it manually, or trust Windows XP to do the job automatically? This is a very helpful Forum by the way! Thanks.

There is no reason at all why you should remove version 7 other than you might want to recover the hard disc space, but if you have plenty then leave 7 for a while until you are completely happy with using 9 then you can remove 7 if you want to.
It will be sufficient just to let the Windows Add/Remove programmes function to delete the programme from your HDD - it will leave a few odd files around but they are usually very small - you can find and delete them manually if you really need to.

Just as a little more data for you, there have been a number of posts by people haveing difficulties with the downloaded version of the Upgrade. The safer bet is to get the boxed version. That way you get the bonus content on a separate disc as well as having the original program disc available to use the repair function if needed. You also get a hard copy of the manual and, as others have pointed out...a very glossy box!
