You should read the FAQs on the Happauge site for Windows MCE.

The trial version of MF4 doesn't support the Happauge capture plugin, it only installs to the Retail or ESD version.

I got the WinTV2000 working with capture!

Details:
Go to http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?board=51.0
Go to Beta Lite CD Release 2.0.35.23258 is ready for download
Install Hauppauge WinTV2000 4.7.23045
Install WinTV-PVR 150/500 Release 2.0.35.23258

That seems to work, and I was able to capture MPEG2 video, so solution found.

I also plan to try: DVD MF3.5 -> MF 3.0 Hauppauge drivers -> MF3.0 Updates
to see if that will work. Currently the first two steps causes errors. I have not tried the third.

Here is a note that I received from Ulead Tech support on re-installing Movie Factory 3.
If in fact your version is 3.5 then you don't have to install the update 300P01.

Install the updates in the following order:

Update 300P01
DL Support Pack (2 parts)
Hauppauge Capture Plugin

Hope you can get it to work.
