Anyone installed Cool 3D Production Studio with the Win XP Pro x64 os? For some reason it seems to run awfully slow even though it's now on a machine with twice the speed... Any ideas?

Hi Harold, welcome to the forums,
I'm not sure about this, but my guess is that since C3D PS was written before dual core and 64bit, it probably just doesn't support it. So you're not going to get any additional benefits by running it on one.
My machine is an AMD 3200+ 64, it supports 64 bit, however after researching more after buying the machine, I'm not purchasing WinXP Pro 64. I use WinXP home, and they don't allow upgrading to the 64bit version. At the time of my purchase, WinXP 64 and no software existed that would run on 64 bit..
That's just my opinion, and maybe wrong, but 3DPS is several years old, and I don't think that Ulead has any plans to do much with it for a while..

Hi Vidoman
Thanks for the response. Yea, I've been doing some other checking since my request and you confirmed my query about whether is was written to support duals...
My old machine (now hung as a client) is actually about the same speed with the exception of the SATA drive improvement and x64. So far, I've installed about 30% of my previous software including Media Studio Pro and all my Adobe products. The real difference in speed I've seen has been in the Adobe products as well as the gaming environment...
Very few problems so far with a few work arounds. I'm still holding opinions..
Thanks again Vidoman

Hi,
Please check the system requirements for COOL 3D Production Studio in http://www.ulead.com/c3ds/sysreq.htm
I think WinXP 64 bit is not in the list.
Hope this helps.
