no sound with dvd player

Post by slinky2004 »

i got this free ulead dvd factory software with my dvd burner and i'm having a problem getting sound when i watch a dvd with the dvd player. it's wierd because if i stick the dvd in and open it with wmp, it plays with sound(but the picture quality is crappy). also, ulead plays sound when i open an avi file for example, instead of playing an entire dvd. i've tried tweaking the audio tab in the player preferences and turning the volume up, but nothing has worked so far. can anybody help me? i'd really rather use this than wmp.

You're trying to play a commercial DVD? Im not sure, but it could be a limitation of the free DVD player. Maybe the free one doesn't come with a Dolby decoder??? (I know it doesn't have an encoder.) Try a DVD with LPCM audio.

Hi,
The version of MF you have the DVD Player will play dvd's created using MF.
The issue is the DVD Player doesn't play the Dolby Audio on DVD's.
I doubt if you'll find a commercial dvd with Lpcm. Most are Dolby.

Contact the company of the dvd burner that bundled the software to see it they have worked out a solution.

Hope this helps,

MD
