Insufficient Disk Space Error

Post by chill78613 »

I am running version 7.

I keep getting a Insufficient Disk Space error message even though I have 9gig of free space.

I have captured my video from my Camcorder. I have added titles, etc... I saved as a vsp file type.

When I run Share-->Create Video File-->Same as Project Settings, the system runs until it reaches about 60% and then I get the error message.

I am not sure what I did wrong in the above steps?

In video editing, 9 Gb is not a lot.
It would help if you could tell us what format you are using (DV, mpeg) and how long your project is in terms of total time.
For instance, if you are capturing to DV format and trying to construct a video file of the same properties, this will require about 13 Gb per hour. 9 Gb of space would mean that the project will fall over after about 40 minutes.
A new hard drive is highly recommended.

I am creating DV. The total length of the video is approx. 33 minutes.

My ultimate objective is to take the video from the Camcorder and burn it to DVD so that I can watch it on my TV.

Another potential issue is the file system you use -- if it is FAT32, you cannot under any circumstances create a single file larger than 4GB. DV is ~13GB/hour, so 33 minutes would still be over 4GB.
