I have just purchased MSP 8 upgrade boxed version (so I had a printed manual), but on trying to install it after inputting the new version serial number it asks for the previous S/N. Inputting that results in the information it is the wrong serial number. I have checked on the Ulead web site and my 6.5 S/N is there, and is also showing under Help- about Ulead when I start 6.5. What is going wrong??? How can I get it to load, or is it NOT compatible with 6.5 VE??

The version you have "VE" appears to indicate you acquired it as part of a Computer Magazine cover disc. If so I do not think it will qualify as an upgrade product. Consider it to be a never ending trial version.
You will need to email Ulead Tech support to confirm this.
I know there are other VE versions in circulation and a few other users have mentioned that they hope to upgrade from it.
For the benefit of those users could you post a reply when you have resolved this issue.

It seems your VE version of Media Studio can only be used to upgrade from to download version. You might want to send an e-mail to Ulead support to see if they will send you a serial number to activate your product.

"I obtained a upgrade version of Pro 8 - boxed version so I had a printed manual. Trying to install, it gives the box to insert the 6.5 serial number whereupon it gives an error message that it is not the correct S/N. Please advise ASAP if this WILL upgrade my existing version, and how to do so.

I'm sorry but I've learned that you won't be able to install your MSP8 boxed version upgrade with your MSP6.5 VE. The only upgrade version you could use for your MSP6.5 VE is the download version of MSP8 upgrade.
