MF 4.04 burn error 4101

Post by txpeach »

When i try to burn a DVD with Movie Factory 4.04 I get the following error "Convert step got problems!" (4101) Yep! That is the exact verbage. The file I'm trying to burn is an avi created with Media Studio Pro with the following attributes:
24 bits 720x480 4:3 29.97
Lower Field First
DV Encoder - Type 1
DV Audio - NTSC 48,000 kHz 16 bit stereo

I have burned a DVD in the past with the same setting so I don't know why Im having this problem.

Thanks!

Hi Peggy,

what are your computer specs?

How long is the video, and what bitrates are you using?

Are you making a DVD Image to your hard drive, or are you burning directly to disc?

Where are your temp files, and are they Fat32 or NTFS?

Do you have any background music? Any other assets that are different than the attributes you listed?

any .mp3 music, any divx/xvid?

Regards,
George

p.s. Are you Peggy S. :?: :)

I have an Abit NF8 Socket 754 MB with an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ Processor with 1 Gig memory; GE Force FX 5200, 128 MB AGP video card; NEC ND 3520 AW 16x16x16 DVD-RW with the latest firmware; I have 4 100 gig+ hard drives, 2 of which are dedicated to video.
The video is only 3:57. I wanted to test playback before I got too far into the project. Not sure of the bitrates nor how to find them. I created the DVD Type 1 avi file to my hard drive and I'm using the menu system in MF to create the menu files, etc. All my drives for video are FAT32 and my temp files are stored on the other video drive. I have music in the video (wave format) but none added in MF. No mp3, divx/xvid files included. Basically, this is a video made up of 3D avi files created in Cool 3D PS and stills with a music background. I just like to test my work on a large TV early on so I know if adjustments need to be made.

Thanks for taking the time to help me figure this out!

Try burning to DVD Folders and/or a DVD Image file to your hard drive. Then in a separate step, you can try to burn to disc.

The only DVD creation software I have is MF 4.04. I can't find how to create the files to disk first. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

On the last step (burning), there is a little downarrow on the right somewhere (going from memory). Hit that downarrow and it opens up some more burning options...
