HDV 29.97 fps not 60 ?? Why?

Why do all capture programs including MS8 not have a 60i capture for HDV? Am i just stupid, or is it not supposed to be 60 fps, hence the name 1080i/60. (1080 lines and 60 interlaced frames per second.)

(UPDATE Note: I just got an answer on another forum, its not 60 Interlace frames, it’s actually shooting 60 fields per second, very deceiving. Old cameras were specified as how many FRAMES per second they shot not FIELDS!)

As far as 1080i/60 goes the 60 is NTSC 60HZ the other format is 1080i/50 which is PAL 50HZ not Frames Per Second.

HDV is captured at 29.97 FPS for NTSC and at 25 FPS for PAL
