How to burn several movies in one DVD?

Post by Zaroy »

--- One DVD is of 4.7 GB.
--- I have several movies (ready in VIDIO_TS status, stored in computer), as “White Christmas” (3 min. 25 sec.), “New Year Party” (4 min. 20 sec.), “Go Home” (3 min.45 sec.)
--- If we go from “Create Video DVD”  “DVD-Video or DVD+VR”  … till the last page of “Burning”, we can burn only one project (project indicates the movie story). Each project will use a whole disc no matter how short it is.

My Problem: How to burn them in one disc? (1) Of course, I mean a DVD that will be automatically playing in family DVD player; (2) At least, save them so that they can re-play on the computer. Moreover, I also ask what is the best method to save those PROJECTS (not converted into Video yet), in case I have to clean them for space in the future.

Disclaimer: I did “search” before posting this thread. I think this must be a problem discussed previously, as it is very a practical problem. It is impossible for the most people to burn his every short story by one whole DVD.

You got me all confused here. What is the source material? video clips I gather. Did you edit them in MF or did you just capture them from your camcorder?

When you put your video on the time line, add the other clips as you go and create a menu before you go to the burning stage. That way, all your clips will be on 1 CD/DVD, accessible by the menu.

(1) As you know, i have encounter the problem to convert "big" project. Please refer my other post about the last stage of buring.

What I am talking is different "VIDEO_TS"s, edited by DMF4.

(2) Even I have no problem (1), I still have this problem (to record N short movies in one disc), in order to ecomomy the discs.

Video_ts is the DVD compliant folder for your DVD data. You can burn that to DVD but, as far as I know, you cannot combine several into one DVD.

I think it much better to work out what your problem is with your computer than trying to find a way around the problem. If you cannot burn a normal size DVD from within MF, there is something seriously fishy.

If you had to write a letter in your word processor and had to print it line by line and then assemble it into a letter by some other means, would you do that?

You should be able to add your DVD's to a single project from the ADD MEDIA screen using the IMPORT DVD icon.

Thank you, John. You understand my question. By doing what you suggested, I am able to save several Stories in one disc. Peviously, I have spent many discs, each hosting only one movie, no matter how short it is

I know a litle more of the function of DMF4 thropugh this practice. Thanks!

Have a nice week-end!
