I have a 180 sec clip to put on the internet. What advise do you have for the best way to do this. I have ended up with 976 KB “rm” & 1.58 MB “asf” files. The big file takes 5 to 8 minutes for a modem bound person.
I used the "create video file" & guessed at the options. Then export to html file.
Does any one have suggestion how to get this to the widest audience? In this case the sound is just speech but I would like to do a trailer of another one with music.
Export to web page

The rm file sounds about the best option. Whichever way you look at it, a video file has to carry lots of data; in this situation it's an uneasy tradeoff between compression techniques, file size (ie download time) and quality. File size and quality are inversely related
I tried a few videos for the Neptune site; wmv files of exactly 180 seconds ranged from 8 Mb to 46 Mb depending on bitrate (and therefore quality). If you can put up with the quality of the rm file then go with it.

An addendum: don't know what the file is about, but if you have a web page already, which receives moderate traffic, try putting a link to the file on it:
(you'll just need a ftp program or similar to get the file up to your server)
View my latest production at http://www.myisp.com/~myname/epic.rm
Or include the link in an email to all your friends

Umm - that myisp thing was supposed to be just an illustration - I had no idea that there was a site by that name..
To view rm files you need the Real Player software (free from Real.com); there is a Mac version available. Do the people who are having trouble have the player installed?
Would you like to provide a link so that I/we can also test the system?
