Audio Plays R-Channel only.

Post by DGV »

Hey guys,

I have burnt 3 projects to disc using VS9, and when I play them on my pc at work, the audio is only heard through the right channel. I also did a project for my father, and it only played through the right channel on his DVD at home - yet when i capture and edit, the audio is coming through both speakers on my pc. To make matters even more confusing, during playback of one particular DVD (a holiday to the USA), every now and then, the sound comes through the left channel - but only for a split second.

Is there a setting during the render and burn that i am missing? I had a look but couldnt pinpoint a cuase to the problem.

I captured the USA holiday footage from VHS, through my Panasonic GS400 (into DV) and then into my 1394 port.

I have a P4 3.0, 120gb+200GB HDD, 1gb RAM, 256 graphics.

what are the connections from the VHS Source to the panasonic? Is the VHS source stereo or mono?

Is you panasonic set for 32khz or 48khz audio (12 bit or 16bit) :?:

Hi George,

It is a stereo VHS and i use stereo a/v cables from the VHS to the Pana camera, and the DV (IEEE1394) to the pc.

What is the ideal setting on the camera for audio - 12 bit or 16 bit?

Thanks. Dain.
