Failed in performing power calibration

Post by Tris3d »

Hello everyone!

I'm trying to make a dvd of some of a special effect I have created.

All my movies are in quicktime format no compression and I have an audio file.

the output size is 720 - 576 Pal , 25 pfs.

The problem is burning it to the dvd, it comes up with the error "failed in performing power calibration, Error: 20*******

Is it a problem that my files are quicktime? Do they need to be mpeg2?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tristan.

Have you installed the Burning Patch from Ulead's Support pages?

which version of DVD Workshop are you running?

Also, do you have any "packet writing" software installed (the kind that lets you drag and drop onto a dvd±RW disc like it was a hard drive)? If so, it's recommened that you uninstall that type of software.

I would recommend burning to DVD Folders on my hard drive, then in a separate step, you can burn the DVD FOlders to disc.

Regards,
George

There are various causes of a power calibration error.
One of the main causes is the media you are burning onto.
First try to burn at a slower speed, I never burn faster than 4x
You may have to use a different brand of Disc as many burners are a bit fussy, whats works in one may not work in another.

Next check your DVD burners website to see if there is an update firmware for the burner.

Firmware is the software within the DVD writer itself.
