I have created several small chroma-keyed arrows. They work fine as anoverlay. I then added movement to the first arrow. It started and stoped where I wanted. I then copied the overlay image to the library, then back onto the overlay timeline. I was hoping to be able to START the second overlay effect from the position where the first one ended. Did not have any luck with that after seemingly having reset the direction/style buttons.
I cannot seem to get the second effect to start from where I desire.
How can you get a second effect movement to MATCH the end of a previous one so you can have seemless effects in the final output?

Your arrows
Have you tried copying and pasting, or bringing in from the library if you have saved it there, the same arrow
( complete with effects/movements ) into the second position you want,
and then checking the reverse video box so that your last arrow position now becomes the first position?

Unable to set position
Well it appears that if the position of the chroma-keyed image is somwhere an area other than the corners or sides of the image (when its position ends center screen lets say), you cannot START a subsequent image movement from where the first one ended.
An unfortunate limitation.
Would be a nice product addition to have an option button you could click
would be something like "Start this imager position from the LAST position of previous image..."
I am not thst familiar with FLASH movies, and maybe this task could be better accomplished with that tool. But am not sure if .avi's, wmv's, .mpg's can be imporeted into FLASH.
Perhaps a Flash familiar user could comment.

I know it's bit of a long way around (but a long way is better than no way), what if you render the first chroma-key then bring that back in and add your other chroma-key to it?

Try a program called Swishmax http://www.swishzone.com. You would be able to create the arrows in it, and then export to either SWF (flash) or AVI format.
It even has preset shapes of arrows..

The 'rerender'
I tried the suggestion made about partially reredering the desired movie section, and the ADDING another image movement the the 'last' part to get the completion of my arrows movement. A good suggestion, I had that idea also. Doing such, is where I 'discovered' the INABILITY to start the arrow in a precise position at 'mid-screen'. So you cannot do it with sequenced image objects apparently.
Some more investigating leads me to beleive that Flash, or other Flash tools
(as suggested above) seems to be the way to go.

Your arrows
Your a good man!
Thats the kind of stuff I'm looking for.
I've been looking at the Swish site. Very interesting. Nice tutorals and product samples.
How good does your small sample look after being imported into VS and being made into a web viewable movie?
