mpeg-4, vob question?

Post by dabear »

Hey guys, I just checked my ulead manual out and could not find the anser to my question. So now I turn to the pros.

Can you turn a vob file and a mpeg4 into and mpeg using uleadmediapro 8?

Everytime I try to load the file into the programe it says something like invalid or file not recognised.

Thank you very much.

A lot of users seem to have problems Importing DVDs. I guess it depends on some unknown characteristics of the VOB files. I've had some luck with a free program called SUPER (Although, I wasn't converting to MPEG-4). Others have had success with NERO.

...I assume the DVD is not copy protected.

Are they two seperate files? If they are, I assume you have the mp4 plugin, which should grant you mp4 compatibility.
You can try to change the filename of the .vob file to .mpg, sometimes that works.
You could try the DVD import feature to change the .vob to a .mpg
I use a program called DVDx, it's free, and while quite slow, it does a good job at converting .vob to .mpg while including subtitles and any audio streams you need.
Hope this helps.

The mp4 plugin is from Ulead. You have to buy it to add the mp4 functionality to MSP8.
I'm not sure of a free mp4 to mpg converter, never needed to convert that way, I always convert the other way around!
