Ulead VideoStudio 8 Burnig to DVD problem
Hi All
This is the latest on my problem:
Checked my DVD burning device with another program and it burns to DVD OK. So I contacted Ulead and this is the reply:
1) Download the latest CD/DVD Burning Pack (Version: 3.6.19 .281, Release Date: 2005/07/27) http://www.ulead.com/tech/general/burning_patch.htm
(I've done that)
2) Please try to use a different media format (DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW) or another brand to burn. (I'll do that)
3) Turn off all running applications including anti virus, norton utilities, or other memory resident programs, Internet connection, etc. Also, if you have hardware devices that are currently connected via USB port like compact flash card reader, removable drives, what have you, unplug them all before running the program. (I do that already)
4) Be sure that DMA is enabled for IDE hard disks (It is)
5) Download the latest version of DirectX (I'll do that)
Will report back to forum when I burn in Ulead again

Unable to burn DVD in UleadStudio v8
Hi all
(I'm not using M/Factory) The latest from Ulead is to uninstall and reinstall, I've done that but still get the following message
""Failed in Performance calibration. Error: DVDR-INC-SPTI-2A-02-03-73-03"
I'm setting burning speed at 1x and using quality DVD-R disks.
Does anyone know what the message means please
Regards

Hi Mike,
Well given the hoops you have been jumping through why not try this!
That error message is kind of generic and could mean just about anything and as such ends up meaning nothing! It does, however, indicate some sort of communication breakdown between OS/Ulead and the burner.
You mention you are seting the burn speed to x1. There is a possibility that the firmware of your burner does not have a corresponding write strategy for burning at x1 for that particular brand/make of DVD media. (Even though it may appear as a choice.)
Try x4 and see what happens and while you are at it go to the website of you burner's manufacturer and see if there is a firmware upgrade.

Ulead Video Studio v8 will not burn to DVD
Thanks for advice, there was no upgrade for my DVD burner. So I tried another uninstall again. This time after an uninstell as per instruction from Ulead Support, I did a "Seach" in Start > Search and guess what! there were plenty of Ulead folders still there there!!! So I deleted them all and attempted to burn a project to DVD at 2x speed and all is now OK.
Hope this will help anyone who gets the same problem

unable to burn DVD with Ulead Studio 8
Hi all, its me again.
Despite the above thread saying all is OK.....it wasnt. I found I coudnt burn with other programs either. It was caused by a fault with the Optimum Power Calibration Area. This is usually cured by changing media or burner hardware. I eventally changed the Burner and all is OK now.
