Videeo filters

I selected several clips by clicking on the first clip, going to say 4 clips over holding down Shift and clicking on that clip, thereby selecting 4 clips. I wanted to add the "Auto exposure" to all four clips. When I attempt to drag the "auto exposure" filter to all four clips, they are "deselected. Is there a way to add these filters to more than one clip at a time?

You can't do it that way, but if you first render those clips (i.e. make them their own video file) then you could add the filter to the entire clip. Kind of clunky, but if you want to add a certain filter to a bunch of clips that is the easiest way to do it (IMHO).
