No playback in dvd player any suggestions
After buying Verbatim Digital CD photo album and having no luck at all burning I bought ULead. I created and burned a dvd fine. When I put it in our player it can't read it. Any ideas? I'm just trying to get some pictures off to Grandpa and Grandma. Who knew it would be such a big deal?

I too have gotten incorrect disc quite often in my DVD players. What I have done to get around it is: Try a different DVD player some are not compatible with all types of discs. I have 4 DVD players, on an average one out 4 will not play one of the discs. Try burning different types of discs. I have tried them all DVD-R, DVD+R. and the DVDRWs along with 4 different brand names. I have had to burn the RW disk then use a program like Nero to copy it to a DVD+ or - R then for some reason that I have not figured out...it works in all the players. I have a garbage can full of coasters! Thank goodness they have gone down in price! Good luck to you.

Yes disc compatibility is an issue, try here for compatibility. http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers Short of having them professionally pressed ($$$$) you'll never get 100% compatibility.Family Treasures wrote: Try a different DVD player some are not compatible with all types of discs.
The reason Nero worked most likely is that it has a better burning engine, also note that good discs are one of the keys. Cheap media is cheap for a reason.I have 4 DVD players, on an average one out 4 will not play one of the discs. Try burning different types of discs. Some other things you can try are:
1. Update the firmware on your drive.
2. Make sure your using the latest updates for the software your burning with.
3. Force it to burn at a slower rate.
4. I mention to use good media before but that is probably the number one cause of bad burns. try this site for more info http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
