using VS8 and Fusion HDTV Card

Post by sgronow »

Hi,

I have got a Fusion HDTV Card, when i try to use VS8 to capture video from the Tuner source all I get is a blue screen any any channel.

If I swap over to Svideo or Compoent video - its fine.

If i use the Crappy capture software that came with the card it works fine in Tuner mode.

I would perfer to use VS8 to do my capturing

Any one got any ideas ?
Thanks

Capturing HD with Video Studio 8 is problematic because the maximum frame size is only 720 x 480 pixels. An HD frame is at least 1280x720 pixels - and up to 1920 X 1080.

I would use the capture software that came with the Fusion box or try Media Studio Pro.

Hi sgronow;

I have the MYHD High Definition Tuner card plugged into a PCI slot, In MYHD there is a box I check when I use a seperate monitor (HD ready TV) I have this box checked and I have an overlay window box which I uncheck when I want to capture HD TV broadcast's from the tuner.

I have had great success capturing MPERG 2 HD TV broadcast with Ulead Videostudio 8 in Windows Millenium, 720 by 480 is what I set up in videostudio 8 with a variable bit rate of 8000 kbps with audio bitrate of 256 kbps mp3.

videostudio 8 automatically converts the 1080i HD broadcast to the 720 by 480 which I set in videostudio 8.

This does require a fast computer, I have the AMD 2600+ athlon and I have no frame drop out.

So for me the combination of MYHD, AMD athlon 2600+ and ULEAD Videostudio 8 useing windows millennium I can record analog and digital broadcasts in mpeg2 DVD compliant video with little or no problems.

I recorded the Mini Series Battle Star Galactica from the SCI FI cable channell the other day Edited the video and recorded the DVD with AC3 audio all in less then 8 hours. No Problem.

robertpcx,

Can I ask HOW are you getting the ASTC signal into the computer to
record the video? (Or are you connected to the local cable tv system).
What manufacturer antennas are you using? Is it a highly directional type?
