Video Studio 9 - Jumpy video

Post by adrian.legg@btinternet.co »

When I burn a video it starts off by running smoothly but soon becomes very jerky and jumpy. A longer video - approx. 1 hour long - eventually froze. This is with Video Studio 9. Any suggestions how to overcome this? Thanks.

It is not really clear what you mean. Do you mean that the disc (CD? DVD?) when you put it in a DVD player ( in your computer? stand alone?) first runs smoothly but then deteriorates? We need to know what the properties were of the file(s) you burned to disc; something about your computer set-up; what sort of stand-alone player you are using. You also need to be aware that not all stand-alone players are made equal when it comes to home-made discs. Some, particularly the more expensive brand-names, are very picky about what they will play. Some won't play home-made VCDs, let alone SVCDs, and may even be very finicky about playing home-made DVDs. They may simply refuse to play them at all, or play them erratically, the way you describe... You may be able to find out more about your own player's ability to deal with such discs at http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers
