I started a project that opened with one of the sports themes in SC. I added my own video clips changed the text and added it to my timeline. When playing it back on my preview window in MSP 8 I get a message
"Runtime Error Program...iles\Ulead\UMSP8\videoeditor.exe Abnormal Program Termination.
I then played back the project on my preview screen in the normal screen size and it played without the error. When I increased my timeline preview screen I get the error but the project will still keep playing. If I close the error box MSP closes. If I move the error box I can still preview my project. Maybe a bug or my system?
System Specs. Opteron 170, Win XP Pro SP 2, 2 gig Ram, Asrock Dual 939 with latest ULI chipset drivers, 80 Gb system drive, 300 GB SATA storage drive. 5 gb of that drive is for virtual memorey, rest is for storage and capture and render. Santa Cruz SC latest drivers. Matrox P 750 Dual head VC latest drivers. System only used for VE, no internet connection, no AV installed. No office programs.
Abnormal Program Termination? MSP 8
Your system should be OK. Does this happen with all projects or just one? This should help determine whether you might not have a corrupt file in the project or MSP8??? What format are your files?

Devil, This is my first project in MSP 8 so I have no other projects to compare it to. The files that are in the SC are .AVI files. I tried again today with the preview screen enlarged for preview I get that error message, but when the preview screen is at normal size the video plays fine. And its only on that part of the video. I can enlarge the preview screen on any other part of my project and it plays fine. Maybe you are right it could be a corrupted video file? The top part of the message does say Microsoft C++. For now I will finish my project and figure this out later. Thanks for the help.
