Can position of text be locked

Post by eatc7402 »

I am trying to create two different animation effects by using
the same title text object TWICE (2 sequentially). But I find it to easy to slightly
move the position of text location box so that the two sequential objects no longer match.

Is there a way to lock to position of text objects??

If not, I feel there should be, this is a not uncommon option in many other editor dealing with graphical objects.

You can anchor the text in one of 9 fixed positions sort of like in a game of noughts and crosses.
Enter your text and then look to the left hand column - the Edit Tab should be displayed. At the bottom of the edit tab there is an alignment box, just click one of the 9 positions and you will anchor your text to that position.

So thats what those things are for! I thought they were just for moving the
text, but IN ADDITION they act as locks. Great. Thanks.

Create the first title.
Drag the title clip to the library, this creates a thumbnail of your title clip. An exact copy.
Drag the thumbnail back to the timeline.
The text will be in the same position for both titles

Alter the animation of the second title clip.
