Hi
I'm currently converting a friends wedding video to dvd. I've found that the bride's white dress "flares" to the point where lace and satin sleeves etc are just one big white blob. Also the tiers of the white wedding cake cannot be distinguished neither can any of the decorative featurs. It just looks like one big white blob. I've tried a number of filters but still not totally satisfied with the result. I'm using VS9. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to how I can reduce the flaring.
Thanks

It sounds to me like the video was overexposed while shooting, the whites will blend together when video is overexposed. It is easier to fix an underexposed video than it is to fix an overexposed video. Try reducing the brightness and increeasing the contrast through a filter, and just play with the brightness and contrast filter. It will not be purfect, if the video was overexposed to begin with.
