Glad you got it fixed. In the coming weeks I intend to create a "Frequently Asked questions" which I shall place in the Tutorials Section.
I shall include this fix for anyone else who has this problem in the future.

Thank you
Steve J

I just checked it, and it wroks. The post that solved my problem is the very first post. I was getting eror messages the same as this person. Hope this helps. When you try and uninstall quicktracks through "add/remove, are you unable to do so. Quicktracks was there for me, but showed 0 size, and I got error messges when trying to delete

Yes, I didn't realize the "link" type at the begining of the orginal at first. I actually installed the patch for the Quicktime 7 compatibility and that worked for me. So it is now running properly.

One problem though. They all show under "all" and none show as "owned" so I can use them.

NEVER MIND - FIGURED THIS OUT TOO.

Man this program is going to be the end of me yet.

yes as a matter of fact I did see it and went through the whole operation.

When I initially finished with the suggestions there I had all the music files including "Full Spectrum" under "all" and nothing in "owned". I checked the initial SmartSound file that I had saved and noted that one file was missing from the new download. I copied it over to the new download files and that is when the "Full Spectrum" files went to "owned" but there is no sound. I presume that file that I copied over should come out of the new download file but I am then back to everything being in "all" and nothing in "owned" then.

Well I'm back today trying to sort this VS program out.

As I previously said after running the stuff that Brian mentioned above I decided today to run the link that Steve posted in about the second post on this thread backing up the files before doing so.

Would someone be so kind as to check your libraries file and tell me if you have what I have. Image

Well, I certainly have those three, but, from the point of view of a VS install, I also have Full Spectrum 22K.sdx, Full Spectrum 44K.SDI and Full Spectrum 44K.ICO, plus one labelled Full Spectrum.SDX -- though I suspect this latter relates to another editing program which also uses SmartSound and installs Full Spectrum as the sample library. (I also have a variety of SmartSound discs which I have installed and which have their own SDX and ICO files in this library.)

Sooo it would seem that I am missing some important file extensions. I wonder what happened to them and if I can find them someplace without going through the whole operation again? I'll do a search on my hard drive.

The SmartSound disks that you have are those additional music files you bought from Ulead?

Your Smartsound library files are here:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SmartSound Software Inc\Sound Files

The Libraries are here:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SmartSound Software Inc\Libraries

Sorry I cant post any screen shots because the would be meaningless to you as I have several extra smartsound libraries installed.
