Capture video Error prob: no video capture driver installed

I am using video studio 9.
Using a firewire card and cable (IEEE 1394).
I have a Sony handycam DCR-H20.
On a Win 2000 machine.
I have a hammer in one hand waiting to correct this problem one way or another....


Description of issue:

When I select the Capture tab and then I select the Capture Video button, I receive the following error message:
"Either no video capture driver is installed in this system, or no device is connected."

The firewire cable is connected to the camera and the other end is firmly connected to the PC.

A little disappointed so far with this whole family/movie making thing.

I felt this was a video issue as compared to Video Studio issue, that is why I posted here.
