I have been sent an NTSC video tape from a friend overseas and was wondering, as I'm very new ro this Video Studio 9, whether I can convert it to a PAL DVD in order to view.
Thanks for any help forthcoming

I'm using a TEAC VCR capable of playing PAL/NTSC to capture the video. I have been able to get as far as capturing the video in black and white, but have difficulties getting the colour,
vidoman I have done a search and have been only able to come up with NTSC to PAL which I've tried to follow in the opposite direction, but it fails to work. So, be more constructive or don't answer at all.

The problem you face is Hardware related and not software.
I have a Hauppauge TV card which I used to convert my entire collection of VHS tapes to DVD, the Tapes found their way to the local rubbish tip!
My wife wanted a certain Christmassy Film that was not at the time available in PAL and I had to purchase a copy from America via the internet. Obvioulsy the tape was in NTSC.
I could only get the Hauppauge TV card to display the tape in Monochrome and so did an extensive amount of research into this problem.
It is all to do with the TV Tuner built into the TV Card and nothing at all to do with the Video Recorder. The only way you would get colour is to purchase a TV card from "NTSC" land so that you get a card with the correct tuner.
People living in America etc who use NTSC will have the exact same problem if they try to record a PAL tape into their computers.
