Hi,
when working with an effect I was used to add soft and smooth speed changes called Ease In / Ease Out (term used widely in Avid). I am missing that badly in Ulead Media Studio Pro - everything seems to look very "mechanical" now.
Things like transitions or zoom usually do not go linear - they usually start slow, speed up, go on fast and in the end slow down again.
It is pretty impossible for me to simulate this effect with adding keyframes - effects then look "mechanical with hickup".
Am I just missing something or am I pathetic?
Thank you!

The fact that only 2 persons responded shows how valueless such a poll can be. If the person concerned had simply asked how she could get better results, without using terminology specific to a competitive product, I'm sure she would have had many answers, instead of trolling.

Perhaps this should not be a poll, but it is most certainly not trolling.
"Easing in/out" is not a term solely related to a competitive product, but rather it is near industry standard across most video and animation packages.
Just last night I was trying to figure out how to do such a thing for some titles while I'm evaluating the product for purchase. I ended up having to resort to flash to get the effect that I wanted.

I've also tried to duplicate the ease-in/ease-out effect with MSPro8 with no sucess. I've only seen it with windows movie maker and I really liked how i've seen the effect used in other videos. I'm not sure why it's not included in the basic transition packages?

I've been studying Premiere. Not sure if they have the ease-in/ease-out effect, but someone mentioned keyframing as a way to create it. I'm curious, if you already know how to use AVID why are you trying to find another Video editing software to use?bsdcatharine wrote:Ok, my intention was not to troll. I downloaded a trial version and I wasn't sure whether this was Ulead or me.
As I didn't find an answer neither in your messages neither in the manual, I guess it really isn't me.
Thanks for the responses.

Well, while I can use Avid for TV and film editing, I can't use it to edit "moving pictures" in various nonstandard formats (like 800x600) produced with CG.Amalthia wrote:I'm curious, if you already know how to use AVID why are you trying to find another Video editing software to use?
Strangely Ulead - although not purposed for this at all - seems to be a better solution in some ways than dedicated tools... for its price or audio post sync
I think it's worth keeping for that alone. I'm mostly using Ulead because it accepts AVI xvid files where as a lot of other programs won't. Now I just need to figure out how to re-create some of the effects I've seen in other video editing programs and I'll be good to go.bsdcatharine wrote:
