Audio and Video not synchronized

Post by semtex007 »

I have a audio and video sync problem. I am running a VCR through my TV capture card using a coaxial(ATI, not sure of the model) and I run the audio cable from the capture card to the onboard sound. I start the app and run capture mode. Everything seems to be running smooth then when I have caputed enough, I playback what I have. I like what I see but as the video goes on the audio starts to gradually go out of sync. By the end the video and audio are way out to lunch.

Any ideas?

Quoting myself -
This is a common, nasty, hard to fix problem. (Take a look at my "signature" at the end of this post!) It seems to have many different causes & solutions. Search the forum for "sync" and you'll find lots of discussion and suggestions.
Try using the software supplied by ATI for capturing. Once you have a digital file, you can use Video Studio to edit or to make a DVD.

And, if you are capturing to MPEG, try capturing to AVI/DV format. If you're making a DVD, save the MPEG-2 encoding for last.
