transistions :(

Post by laurenc31 »

hi,

I'm still having the transition problem - i even bought the retail version, assuming it may have been a problem with the trial version but i have found the same problem even with the retail version. i also tried the retail software on 2 computers and had the same bad luck.

I am using the PAL system as i live in Australia, the images are from a digital camera source and also a scanner. the digital images are about 791 KB and the scanned images are aprox 80 KB.

The last time i used the program when I made a DVD (using the trial version last year) i had no trouble inserting transitions between images the same size as the ones im trying to do now.

i haven't been able to alter my preferences because each time i click it, the program shuts down. This is with the retail version, on both computers!

not one of the transistions works when i try and put it between 2 clips. it just wont let me do it!?

Can we assume you have tried totally uninstalling and then reinstalling VS? WE have no idea of what your computer specifications are, or even which operating system you are using. Nor exactly what work flow you are following -- how exactly are you inserting, or trying to insert the transitions? And FWIW, there is not difference between trial and full versions in the operation of the transitions -- which, I would have to say, for 99% of us, work just fine. So there must be something special about your computer set-up or your work flow which is producing this result.

Make sure you aren't adding pictures one-at-a-time to the timeline. You should add a "group" of pictures as a slideshow to the timeline...

:?: :?: :?:

What is the reasoning for this? I've added pics one-at-a-time on many occasions, and have never had a problem.

You're right -- I wasn't clear on when/where this applies...

It depends on where the pics are added...

I was thinking in the DVD Authoring module (as opposed to the VS Timeline).

Regards,
George

p.s. I could just be getting VS and MF and DWS confused at the moment -- I'll have to try it tonight when I get home...

In Authoring programs, the slideshow transitions only work when there's more than one picture in the slideshow. Some folks were adding single pics to the DVD Timeline, and wondering why the transitions wouldn't work...
