Just bought the upgrade to MF 4 ESD and have it downloading as I write this.
Question: What is in the "Extra Content" download and is it worth spending the long time to download?
MF 4 Disc Creator

Heinz,
The extra content is more menus & templates. Yes, you will use the extra content.
Make sure you install the latest patch because that original release
has bugs. (Unless they fixed them, probably not).
Usually people installing the downloads are instructed by ulead to
Install MF4.
Don't reboot, Install the Extra Content
Reboot the machine.
Did you purchase the standard version or the "Disc Creator" version?
If any problems look for a program called "Monitor" that's loaded on startup. Icon located on bottom right of screen. You can disable that.
Also, to disable packet writing on the writer on the machine it's located on one of the TABS under the "Properties" of the CD/DVD burner.
Hope this helps,
MD

Hi,
The patch contains many fixes including fixing audio problems.
You need the latest patch installed.
The 3rd Icon down on the left side of the screen next to the
timeline is the "Export" Icon. A new feature in MF4. It's very useful.
The "Export" is somewhat confusing as to how it works.
The "Fast Export" will take the videos properties and export it with the
same settings. So if it's a 320 x 240 or whatever it will export it out
the same as the original source video (not referencing the "Project Properties".
I use the "Custom" alot if I haven't created a template (you will to).
When using MF it's always best to burn the dvd with compliant files, otherwise conversion will occur in the burning stage and it's hard to tell what the program is doing.
If you watch how MF operates it always writes dvd folders to the harddisk first (in a temp folder). Then burns that folder to the dvd.
I forget if MF has an option to display dropped frames. I can get that working editing the .ini file. It's not the same file as VS or MSP.
Hope some of this helps, it's taken me awhile to learn the in's and out's of the program.
I have finally figured out how to make a "Text Only" menu with MF.
Besides MF, Data-Add is very powerful for audio conversion/extraction.
Making a Dvd-Video/Audio Only creates a nice dvd with hours of music
on it.
If you do want to use the "Packet Writing" you must first format the DVD from the "Launcher" screen. It's one of the icon's on the bottom of the screen. After it's formatted then right-clicking on the burner will display additional "Data-Add" options.
Hope this helps,
MD
