Howdy,
I captured a television show the other night using my tv box. It saved it as mpeg, but i have also copied as an avi file. I want to import it into VS9 to cut out all the ads etc and burn it to DVD, but when i go to Import Video and i select the file (happens with both mpeg and avi version) it locks up and will go no further.
The captured file plays perfectly in Media Player (not corrupted).
Any ideas folks?
Lock up on import of captured Tv.

Hi DGV,
What is the MPEG and AVI type that your TV Box saved the video as?
There are several MPEG, and AVI formats, such as MPEG1 (usually analog VHS quality), MPEG2, MPEG4, AVI uncompressed (about 65 Gig per hour), DV/AVI (developed by M$soft and takes about 13 gig per hour), DivX, Xvid, just to name a few. WMP may play them however VS9 will have problems with some forms of the MPEG or AVI videos, especially if your system does not have enough horsepower...

Hi Ron,
I checked the mpeg version - but it only said 'mpeg'. The show went for an hour and took up about 3GB.
I am running a P4, 3.0, 1GB RAM, 120+200HDD, 256 G/C so i am hoping horsepower isnt a problem as i have sunk so much $ into this machine.
I will have a closer look to see what type of avi and mpeg files they are check the forum again later.
Thanks.
