If I convert an MPEG2 to MPEG4 , it will not play on my LG DVD player. The MPEG4 will play within VS9 but not if put on a DVD and play it in the LG DVD player.
Anyone had any success in converting MPEG2 to MPEG4 and getting them to play in a DVD player that supports DivX? I have ULeads MPEG4 codec.
MPEG4 (DivX) won't play ol LG DVD player

I thought you might still have to output them using the DivX codec -- and IIRC, you can obtain a free version of the codec from the DivX website. And again IIRC, the LG can handle both DivX and XVid mpeg-4s... But I don't know for sure since I don't yet have such a stand-alone player and so haven't made any. (Mind you, I just happened to be looking at an LG that can play them last weekend. Had a 200 GB hard disk too and a [relatively] good price... so I am definitely thinking...)

When you convert an Mpeg2 file to Mpeg4 (Divx), use the Divx 6.1 codec (download freebie from www.Divx.com). Then write the Divx video file on the DVD as a data file, which your Divx-certified player should be able to read and decompress.
BTW, don't try to use the Divx to DVD converter, which will only convert your Divx file back to mpeg2 and burn it to traditional DVD format.
