Help with MovieFactory 3.5 suite deluxe

Post by FallingAngel »

Ok so i just bought this recently but i cant figure out whats going on.

I am trying to burn some of my home movies onto a dvd so i can watch it on my dvd player anytime i want.

But when i finish editing all of it and what not, and am about to burn it, it says i have to have free disk space first on my hard drive.

So if the thing is like 3 gbs, than it'll ask that i have at least 5 or 6 gbs free of hard drive space.

I've been looking at all the different options here and there trying to figure out why its doing this and nothing i change seems to make it any different.

So i'm guessing it saves a copy of whatever i burn onto my hard drive, and there is no option i see to turn that off.

I just wanna burn the thing, i dont want to free up like 6 gigs just to burn something, that makes no sense at all.

Someone plz help me out, i would appreciate it a lot. thanks in advance

it needs the space for the temp files it will create during the DVD Build process.

How tight are you on space? Hard Drives are pretty inexpensive these days -- I just picked up a 200gb for under $50

Even the external HD's have come down to under .50/gb

OK, here's the deal... You could just directly burn your video file onto a DVD without eating up any more disk space. And, you could play the DVD with Windows Media Player. But, you would NOT have a properly formatted video-DVD, and it wouldn't play on your living-room DVD player. :(

I don't know why, but I think if I have a 4GB file it wants another 8GB of temporary space.. a total of three times the required DVD space!!! You probably need a new hard drive :(
