SHAME SHAME SHAME AGAIN!

Post by petgabor »

Just like with MSP8 we now have a BAD patch file which makes my PI11 unusable. Been using Photoimpact since PI4 but I never experienced these problems before. SOMETHING REALLY WENT WRONG AT ULEAD LATELY. Sofwares are published with full of bugs, patches don't work, support is slow if they ever contact.... I don't know who is the boss currently but things are certaily going WRONG. GET YOURSELF TOGETHER GUYS and publish a patch to this s**** version of PI when it actually WORKS!

I should have said that I got the same message and also have paid for and registered version of pi11.
Got the same problem. Actually was hoping to post some good news. Started my admin acc. & opened PI11, and it offered the smart download updates etc. Not sure if I'd opened it on that acc since the last re-install :D but figured that perhaps my NIS 2006 had decided it was OK for it to run. Found that the ENS error had disappeared!. Almost cause for celebration I decided inspite of forum warnings not to, to download and install the patch. Big mistake! Windows doesn't like it and won't let it run (see above quote). I did create a restore point prior to install, so hope everything will be OK.

Attention ULEAD. The patch is faulty

Before I download and try it (I have a multi boot system so can do a test)
Has anyone installed it and found that it worked :?:

All the posts so far have said it is faulty.

Yes. I installed the update and have been using PI since then. I noticed this morning that I had trouble editing text but didn't have time to look into it more. I don't recall having the problem prior to the update.

Hope that helps.

Yes,
The updater has worked for me without trouble....
Don't know why I'm the only one up to now!

Probably because you haven't downloaded the latest Windows updates? I suspect the patch was released just before the current Windows updates because there woudn't be much point after

same deal - crashed after update - hanging on opening page - probably need the boxed version of the dloaded program- not the "activated over the webb" type ... all this still went down with the multiple reinstall attempts.

And I need the fixes- - especially for the associations

I remember having installed the latest Windows critical update just before the Pi11 patch.
After the Windows Update (system reboot) and prior to the Pi11 patch I've "ghosted" my system drive... just in case of because we know that Ulead installers are sometimes unpredictable

Yep -- it seems to be fixed. I 'installed' the revised patch 'over the top' of the earlier patch. I did not uninstall/reinstall PI first. Seems to be working fine again.

I didnt get the earlier patch as everytime I tried the server was busy.
I've now got the "new" patch, it installed OK and I haven't (yet) found any problems.

Success - just installed the new version of the update with no problems at all. Checked the MD5 sum and it is a different file.
