I'm using a trial version of VideoStudio v9 with 24 days left.
When I add an overlay to my project and try to play the project in the preview window the rendering window opens but immediately I get the error message: No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection. (17128:1:4)
Can anyone point me in the right direction to overcome this problem, am I doing something wrong or maybe neglecting to do something I should?
The application, on paper anyway, would seem to suit I needs but I'm not inclined to purchase something that doesn't work.
Many thanks for any assistance in this matter.

Hi Murrayfbhi,
We know that you are running Windows 2000, however don't know much about your system, if it can handle importing AVI typeII, transcoding on the fly or maybe something more demanding.
Please complete your system information in your profile. Also more information on how you are capturing, (firewire, composite, usb) to what format (MPEG1, MPEG2, AVI, DV/AVI,), and much more.

Also reading and following the Recommended Procedures will help avoid alot of problems, they are found here:

However it sounds like you have your Playback set to High Quality. VS will have to render your project in order for you to see it if you have the Playback Quality set to High and not Instant Playback.
To change it go to File-->Preferences. Then look down to Playback Method. If it says High Quality, then click on the drop down arrow and choose instant playback.
Now when you want to preview your project while editing, it will not go through a render each time.
Just a side note, I will use the High Qualilty method, and just select small bits (maybe 15-20 seconds) of my project to preview. Otherwise I use Instant Playback..
Regards..
