Only captures in black and white!!!

When I 1st installed VideoStudio6 on my laptop everything was working "hunky dory", it was capturing movies in full colour. Recently i formatted my hard-drive and installed VS6 SE....... Now it only captures in black and white..... what am i doing wrong?

First thought

check that you are capturing in the correct tv system Pal or Ntsc

Also, if you are using an analogue capture device make sure you've selected the correct input type to match how you are connected (S-Video vs composite video).
